Alexia (Lex) Klombies attended the University of Calgary and University of New Brunswick before joining Drache Aptowitzer LLP in 2018. She will be pursuing a practice in tax, charity, and corporate law after she is called to the bar in June 2019.
Before articling with Drache Aptowitzer LPP, Lex gained legal experience with the New Brunswick Nature Trust through Pro Bono Students Canada, and through the Mergers and Acquisitions department of Han’s Laser in China. She also worked as a research assistant for UNB Law’s Dr. Karen Pearlston on the subjects of homosexual rights and disability rights. Lex concurrently researched remedies and intellectual property issues for Norman Siebrasse.
Lex has a history of charitable activity that leads her to connect with clients’ passions. During law school, Lex volunteered for the New Brunswick Nature Trust through Pro Bono Students Canada, co-chaired the LGBT+ law students’ society (OUT Law), and took on a number of mentorship roles. While studying English at UCalgary, she won a volunteer award for her time given to a women’s resource centre, served in organizations aiding students seeking employment, fundraised for Cancer through a major Canadian charity, raised money for the Calgary Food Bank, and formally mentored teenagers in her community.
